When you start GPSLogger II for the first time, the application
automatically opens on the Options Screen. On this screen you should
specify your preferences. The most important setting is the path
directory (the directory on your BlackBerry® device in which your
data will be stored).
The trickiest part is to select your path directory – so simply
follow these instructions: You can either manually type the path of your
path directory or you move the cursor into the text input field and
press the #Menu Button of your device and select the menu item: . Now you
can browse over your device file system (only directories will be
displayed) and go to your wanted path directory. Please note, you have
to go into the directory you would like to have as your path directory.
Once you have reached the directory of your choice select from the menu
the item . This
will close the directory browser and brings you back to the options
dialog with the selected directory path in the 'Path Directory' text
input field.
Please note, that the Menu Item is only visible once the cursor is in the
'Path Directory' text input field.

Step 1
- Open the GPSLogger II Options
- Open the General Settings
- Press the button before the 'Path Directory' input field
IMPORTANT: When you have previously tried to enter manually a value in the 'Path Directory' input field, then please delete the field before pressing the button with the folder icon.

Step 2
- Navigate to to a location on your BlackBerry file system in which you would like to save your logging information (Paths & Locations)
You can navigate through the folder structure by pressing the trackpad/ball on the folder name to open the current selected folder.
- Once you reached the folder in which you would like to save the information press the BlackBerry Button to open the Menu
- Choose 'Select'

Step 3
- Once you returned to the general selection screen you should see something similar like this.
- Now you can additionally can press the 'Test GPS settings' button in order to check if your BlackBerry can provide a valid location

Step 4
- After the start of GPSLogger II you should see something similar like this - at the top of the screen you should read 'Waiting for GPS data...'

Step 5
- Depending on your 'Sample Interval in Seconds' and if you are currently inside a building or outside (with good visibility to the satellites) the Display at the top of the screen should change and display your current location and some additional data that come directly from the GPSAntenna.
- If all this is working on your device as described you should be able to Start logging by selecting 'Start Logging' from the BlackBerry Menu.
- As soon as you start logging (and depending on your 'Sample Interval in Seconds') the text 'no data received yet...' should disappear
Alternatively you could change the active view my pressing multiple times 'D' till you reach the 'GPS-View' (or the 'Compass-View').

In the Path view you will see a 2D plot of your travelled route – each
time your current location will be updated (depending on your update
interval settings) the screen will be reloaded and resized if required.
There are tree different conditions, in which this screen will show
data:

You are currently logging a path (logging mode) – the screen
will be updated as soon as a new location is received from the GPS
antenna. |
| 2) |
You have loaded a path via the Path-Manager – this is for
reviewing a previously recorded path. |
| 3) |
You have loaded a previously recorded path into the
background – the screen will show your current location together with
the loaded path. This feature can be used, if you want to follow a
previously recorded path a second time without the requirement to log
the second run. |
You have the possibility to zoom in and zoom out by using the [U|I]
and [O|P] keys of your device.
The Elevation view is showing a graph of your altitude over time – each
time your current location will be updated (depending on your update
interval settings) the screen will be reloaded and resized if required.
There are two different conditions, in which this screen will show
data:

will be updated as soon as a new location is received from the GPS
antenna. |
